On May 28, a DC Superior Court judge denied a defendant’s release after he was arrested for not attending another hearing.
Keith Sheppard pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual abuse, misdemeanor sex abuse of a child and one count of receiving stolen property on May 31, 2019.
Judge Julie Becker denied Sheppard’s release after Sheppard was arrested on May 27 for not attending his April 23 pretrial show cause hearing. A bench warrant was issued.
Judge Becker decided to set another hearing in front of Judge Craig Iscoe.
A pretrial show cause hearing is scheduled for July 8.
