Hannah Loffman

Hannah Loffman, MSW (she/her) is a newly minted Washington, D.C. resident. Loffman holds a B.S. in Human Development and a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University where she specialized in Management and Policy with a certificate in Aging and Health and a certificate in Human Services Management. With over a decade of experience consulting with organizations and nonprofits; Loffman has provided infrastructure building initiatives to create organizational systems that propel agencies forward. Loffman’s current role as Assistant Publisher for D.C. Witness is the quintessential example of this expertise to work.

In her previous role, Loffman served as the Research Assistant to the inaugural Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Rutgers University School of Social Work (RUSSW) for whom she conducted research on DEI practices in higher education, and created mechanisms to advance DEI policies and practices within RUSSW. Loffman remains passionate about how institutions utilize resources to enhance policies that create greater accessibility for their stakeholders. Loffman is a co-founder of Challah Back Girls, an organization committed to increasing the social awareness and dialogue around racial equity and redirecting the community’s attention to social injustice surrounding them by connecting individuals, families, and communities to the ritual of baking challah–a traditionally braided Jewish bread.
Staying true to her Social Work values, Loffman completed a term on the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) New Jersey Chapter Board of Directors where she was the Master of Social Work Student Representative; connecting students with the necessary resources to thrive as micro- and macro-practitioners. Currently, Hannah serves on the Board of Directors for Nazun, an organization empowering communities and developing leaders to end hunger on college campuses.
