The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an investigation into a shooting on July 5 in Southeast Washington, D.C., that critically injured a 3-year-old girl. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of 14th Street SE, where at least one suspect fired a gun, striking a parked vehicle where the child was seated with family members. The girl remains hospitalized with critical injuries, and MPD’s Major Case Squad is actively pursuing leads in the case.
