The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested a suspect for assault with a dangerous weapon that occurred on the 1300 block of New York Avenue, NW on Aug. 26.
At approximately 9:35 a.m., the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal altercation when the suspect struck the victim with a handbag that contained a metal object.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries, and the suspect, a 34-year-old, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
