The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on May 4.
According to a press release, a vehicle that was traveling at a high speed collided with another vehicle at the intersection of 11th Street and Independence Avenue, SE. The crash occurred after midnight.
The impact caused both vehicles to strike multiple parked vehicles. The passenger in one of the vehicles died on the scene. Two occupants that were in the same car as the victim fled the scene on foot.
Police have not identified the victim.
