Inmate with COVID-10 Being Treated, Doctors Say

Doctors told a DC Superior Court judge that a defendant who contracted COVID-19 is being treated.

The defenant is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior conviction in a domestic violence case.

Doctors did not go into detail about the course of action for Hines’ treatment.

D.C. Witness previously reported that another bond review hearing has been scheduled so that Hines’ attorney, Christopher Mutimer, can review additional medical information about Hines and consult with a physician about how to proceed.

Mutimer also asked that Hines be monitored closely for any changes in his condition.

Hines’ tested positive for COVID-19 on May 7. His motion for release because of the pandemic was denied on May 12.

A felony status conference is scheduled for Aug. 6.
