A defendant pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and possession of a prohibited weapon on Aug. 27.

According to court documents, three Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers apprehended Mohamed Mohamed on March 2 after they saw him sprinkle methamphetamine into a rolling paper on the 700 block of 7th Street, NW. He was also found to be in possession of brass knuckles.

Mohamed, 32, accepted a plea agreement that got his third charge for receiving stolen property dismissed.

DC Superior Court Judge Julie Becker sentenced the defendant to time served. Mohamed must also pay $50 to the Victims of Violent Crime fund for each of his two charges.
