Case against Saeve Evans moves to Grand Jury

A judge has found probable cause in case against the man charged with the murder of Breyona McMillian last November.

A grand jury will now hear the allegations and choose whether to indict Saeve Evans, 30, charged with second-degree murder.

Evans has been held in jail since Nov. 30 when he was originally charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. A judge denied Evans’ lawyer’s argument to let Evans out on bail as the case continues. Evans has pled not guilty.

According to charging documents, it does not appear that McMillian was the intended target. The teenager was outside a housing complex with a group of other people when she was fatally shot.

Evans is due to appear in court again on April 7.
