Police have identified the man fatally shot last Sunday morning as William Burke, Jr.
Burke was found around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 2, suffering from gunshot wounds. Lifesaving efforts failed and Burke was pronounced dead at the hospital. He was found by police in the 800 block of 18th street, NE.
Burke was 34 years old and resided in Northeast.
