Police have charged a second man with murder for the July death of 31-year-old Melvin Williams.

On Friday, 21-year-old Tyrale Diontaye Johnson was charged with second-degree murder while armed. Police in August also charged Derrick Carter for Williams’ homicide.

Williams was found dying from gunshot wounds on July 28 in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE.

According to court records, Carter has been held without bail since he was first arrested, and his case is still pending a grand jury investigation.

Johnson’s next court date is scheduled for November 10. He is also being held without bail.
