The man accused of killing 22-year-old Jarell Walker last June, is expected to go to trial next May.
Police arrested Hakeem Burroughs last June in connection with Walker’s murder at the 3700 block of Hayes St. NE.
In court on Thursday, the judge scheduled a trial readiness hearing for May 4, 2018, and a trial date for May 21, 2018.
Burroughs was charged with second-degree murder while armed and is currently being held without bond.
