A man who fled to Florida after shooting another man pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
Seth Holmes, 25, will now face a sentence of 10 to 14 years. Holmes admitted to shooting Damonta Thompson this May. Holmes followed Thompson in his car on the 100 block of Irvington St., SW, and shot at him four times. Thompson was found conscious, but died from his injuries. A medical examiner ruled he died from a gunshot wound to the back.
After the shooting, Holmes fled to Florida. He was extradited to DC in June and charged with murder. He is due to be sentenced in October.
