The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal hit and run that occurred on the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue, NE.
According to a press release, a dark-colored vehicle was traveling westbound on Eastern Avenue, NE. The vehicle took a left turn and hit two pedestrians in the crosswalk on Kenilworth Avenue.
Sherron Pressley, 51, died after being transported to an area hospital. The status of the other victim, who was also transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, is not known at this time.
The driver of the vehicle did not remain on the scene. the release said.
