Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on Oct. 7.
At approximately 7:25 a.m. officers responded to the 600 block of Parkland Place, SE. Upon arrival, police located 41-year-old Talaya Wright with stab wounds. She was transferred to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries, according to the press release.
Waynice Ellis, 29, was apprehended at the scene and charged with second-degree murder while armed., according to the press release.
