The Metropolitan Police Department announced a June 12 homicide.
At approximately 6:01 p.m. officers responded to the 1300 block of Savannah Street, SE, due to sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located 34-year-old Alphonzo Jones with gunshot wounds. He died from his injuries, according to the press release.
An arrest has yet to be made in this homicide.
