A mistrial was declared in a murder on Dec. 16. Jurors began deliberating on Dec. 13.

Jermaine Harris, 21, is charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection to the death of 38-year-old Lamar Walters on the 2400 block of Franklin Street, NE, on Jan. 6, 2020.

The mistrial followed a request for more guidance in whether they could find Harris guilty of other charges if not first-degree murder.

A status hearing was set for Jan. 10 to discuss how parties will proceed.
