Months after issuing a warrant for his arrest, police arrested Herman Lee Cook, Jr., who police say killed 45-year-old Donald Stephen Johnson, Jr.

Johnson was fatally shot in August 2016 on the 4700 block of Georgia Ave., NW. When police arrived to the scene they found Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds. Johnson was brought to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Cook was arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed on Tuesday after members of the Washington/ Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking area apprehended him.

Cook is expected to be presented in court this afternoon.
