Defendant Remains Released

A DC Superior Court judge allowed a defendant to remain released despite having been noncompliant with his release conditions.

Georgio Hyles pleaded guilty to possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, possession of an unregistered firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He received a 12-month sentence, all of which was suspended. He was also given one year of supervised probation.

However, after not complying with his release conditions, Hyles was ordered to return to court. It is unclear how Hyles was not compliant.

Judge Rainey Brandt allowed him to remain released while awaiting his next court date, admonishing him to follow instructions this time around.

Hyles’ next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 27.
