During a trial readiness hearing on July 12, DC Superior Court Judge Todd E. Edelman set an additional trial readiness hearing for a murder defendant in September.
Ronald Randolph is charged with first-degree murder while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and unlawful possession of a firearm for allegedly shooting Shameka Delephine Jones on Savanah Terrace, SE on July 22, 2017.
The hearing, which occurred on July 12 was continued to Sept. 15 because both parities had additional matters to complete.
According to DC Courts, both parties have to submit protective orders to the judge’s chambers. Specific information about the orders was not discussed in open court.
Randolph’s defense attorney, Madalyn Harvey, also told the judge that DNA testing was completed. The defense has until Sept. 6 to tell the prosecution if they intend to use the results and expert testimony.
Randolph, 42, is scheduled for trial on Dec. 2.
