Document: Arrest Made in Homicide Cold Cases

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has made an arrest in relation to three homicides in D.C. that date back to 1992.

John Carrington was arrested on Sept. 1 in relation to the three homicides.

On Aug. 30, 1992, at approximately 5:43 p.m. police responded to the Unit block of T Street, NW, due to a report of a stabbing. Officers located 29-year-old Charles Boulware with stab wounds and transported him to a local hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to the press release.

On March 15, 2008, at approximately 10:27 p.m. police responded to the corner of North Capitol and Evarts Street, NE, due to a call for service. Officers located 42-year-old Reginald Gaither inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene, according to the press release.

On Dec. 10, 2010, at approximately 7:49 p.m. police responded to the 2900 block of Southern Avenue, SE, due to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located 25-year-old James Campbell with gunshot wounds and transported him to a local hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to the press release.

Carrington, 53, was arrested in D.C. due to an arrest warrant from Prince George County, Maryland. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder while armed and one count of felony murder in connection to the three homicides, according to the press release.
