The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced a woman was arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing that occurred on the 900 block of 5th Street, SE, on Dec. 5.
According to MPD documents, officers responded to the report of a stabbing at the location. They located an adult male victim suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 9.
The victim was identified as 71-year-old Charmaine Smith.
On Dec. 5, 60-year-old Linda Archie was arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill. Detectives are working with the United States Attorney’s Office to upgrade the charges.
