Document: Arrests Made in Aggravated Assault Offense

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced that arrests were made on Nov. 14 for an incident that occurred on the same day on the 1700 block of I Street, NW. 

Seven individuals were involved in an effort to incite violence during a first amendment assembly. Four were arrested for disorderly conduct with different underlying charges. A 29 year-old was arrested for inciting violence and carrying a dangerous weapon (knife). A 28 year-old had underlying charges of inciting violence and possession of a prohibited weapon (taser). A 39 year-old was arrested with underlying charges of inciting violence, aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm. Finally, a 24 year-old had underlying charges of inciting violence and simple assault. 

Three additional suspects were captured by surveillance cameras but have yet to be identified.
