Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a homicide that took place on the morning of Dec. 14.

At approximately 6:50 am, officers responded to the Unit block of 61^st Street, NE, for the report of a shooting, according to a press release. There, they found 44-year-old Jacques Rus unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.
