Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that happened on Aug. 18.
At around 12:53 p.m. that day, officers responded to the Unit block of K Street, NW, for the report of a shooting, according to a press release. There, they found 38-year-old Michael Smith inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene.
