Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that happened on May 31.

At around 8:54 p.m. that day, officers responded to the 1400 block of L Street, SE for the report of a shooting, according to a press release.

There, they found 40-year-old Frank Winchester suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
