Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sept. 15.
At approximately 11:53 a.m. police responded to the 1300 block of Congress Street, SE, due to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival police located 37-year-old Tarshaqua Chappell with gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries, according to the press release.
