Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that happened on the afternoon of March 28.
At around 1:31 p.m. that day, officers responded to the 2700 block of Bruce Place, SE for the report of a shooting.
There, they found 27 year-old Darius Burts suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
