The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an arrest in relation to a shooting that occurred in Northeast. According to the MPD, on June 13, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the sounds of gunshots in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast. They found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds, who was subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The MPD further announced that on August 21, 2024, 27-year-old Renard Levenberry, of Northeast, DC, was arrested. Levenberry has been charged pursuant to a DC Superior Court Arrest Warrant with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
