The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the arrest of 33-year-old Parren Hawkins for alleged involvement in a carjacking and armed robbery on Feb. 2. Hawkins reportedly brandished a gun to steal a vehicle and property from a ride-share driver in the 300 block of 15th St, NE, and later robbed another victim in the 800 block of Barnaby St, SE. The Real Time Crime Center located the stolen vehicle, leading to Hawkins' arrest and the recovery of a firearm and stolen property.
