The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) have arrested one suspect and are looking for another after a juvenile female was found suffering from life-threatening injuries.
At around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, detectives responded to a residence on the 500 block of Harvard Street, NW for the report of a child suffering from visible trauma, according to a press release. As a result of their investigation, they found the juvenile female at a residence on the 1200 block of 49th Street, NE.
It was determined that her injuries were intentionally inflicted. The press release reported that she is being treated for her injuries and is currently in stable condition.
On Dec. 23, a 25 year-old resident of Northeast, DC was arrested for second-degree cruelty to children. The detectives’ investigation revealed the offense to be domestic in nature.
A 28 year-old resident of Northeast, DC is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for first-degree cruelty to children. A photo of him was included in the press release.
