Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect May 27 for assault with the intent to kill and child cruelty offenses.
According to a press release, officers responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1700 block of Benning Road, NE. At the location, officers found a two-year-old girl suffering from multiple stab wounds. The girl was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A knife was recovered as well.
