Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect for an assault with a dangerous weapon offense on June 9.
According to a press release, officers found a victim on the 1700 block of 16th Street, SE earlier that day suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The 26-year-old suspect faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a pistol outside a home or business, possession of an unregistered firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, felon in possession and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.
