Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested and charged a suspect with several charges on May 8.
Police charged the 35-year-old suspect with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), carrying a pistol without a license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to a press release, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds on the 900 block of Bladensburg Road, NE. The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
The suspect was apprehended by responding officers, and a handgun was recovered.
