Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that happened on June 30.
At around 10:12 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Hanna Place, SE for the report of a shooting.
There, they found 41-year-old Carey Edwin Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and took him from the hospital.
Jones died from his injuries on July 21. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be complications of gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
