On Dec. 30, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide of a Maryland resident.
On Dec. 21 at about 2:32 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of 51st Street and Bass Place, SE for a vehicle stopped in the roadway.
They found 25 year-old Tyree Brox inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Rashad Winston, 24, was arrested for first-degree murder while armed (felony murder.)
Winston has prior arrests that include carrying a pistol without a license, robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to a press release.
