The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Major Crash Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in the investigation of a traffic fatality that occurred on July 4 on the 900 block of Eastern Avenue, NE.
According to MPD documents, an adult male was riding a bicycle westbound on Eastern Avenue when a black Mercedes was traveling eastbound and crossed the double yellow line striking the cyclist. The Mercedes fled the scene. The cyclist was found with no signs consistent with life by first responders.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
