Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating two different homicides that occurred on Dec. 6.
At approximately 8:39 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Stanton Road, SE, due to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 27-year-old Stephon Franks and transported him to a local hospital. On Dec. 7 he succumbed to his injuries, according to the press release.
At 11:25 p.m. officers responded to the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, NE, due to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Derico Justice Miles with gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead on scene, according to the press release.
