DC Superior Court Judge Sean Staples upheld a previous decision to hold a convicted felon in preventive detention on June 19.

Muhammad Byrd was sentenced to one year of probation for contempt in December 2019 after he violated a stay away order.

Two notices of non-compliance were filed om May 11 and June 1 since Byrd, 21, placed on probation.

Byrd is currently being held on another charge as well. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 29.
