Giving Tuesday: Help Support D.C. Witness

This Giving Tuesday we hope you will consider D.C. Witness and give a donation.

There are many many worthy causes hoping for your money. There are loads of deserving organizations that give direct services, but the word of the year is “systemic.” And nowhere needs systemic repair more than criminal justice.

The criminal justice system is broken. Not just the police, but everywhere. But for all the noise and good intentions, meaningful change is not going to come without the data on which to build that change. 

At D.C. Witness we believe we provide direct support to victims of homicide by reporting every case equally. But, as importantly, we are the only organization that gathers all the data supplying researchers and policy makers with a very important tool for meaningful change. 

We also help local journalists do the kind of reporting that they don’t have the research resources to do. 

And, we do all of that for free.
