DC Superior Court Judge Judith Pipe denied a carjacking defendant’s request for release in a hearing on July 15 due to a detainer for a burglary in Maryland.  Traviyan Hardy, 24, and Kevin Lester, 36, are charged with unarmed carjacking for their alleged involvement in an incident that occurred at the 300 block of 40th Street, SE on June 13.
