Carjacking

Judge Encourages Carjacking Defendant to Continue Thriving Probation

DC Superior Court Judge Judith Pipe encouraged a carjacking defendant to continue complying with probation requirements on June 29.

Amiya Hilliard, 21, was sentenced on April 24 to 108 months for carrying a pistol outside a home and or business, and unarmed carjacking from an incident that occurred on Nov. 5, 2025 at the block of 4900 Jay Street, NE.

Hilliard’s outstanding prison time was suspended, meaning she would not be jailed, unless she violated her probation conditions.

The probation officer assigned to the case said Hilliard had been in compliance, having reported for every drug test and getting negative results every time.

Although Hilliard is not yet employed, the probation officer noted that she had recently attended a job interview for food vendor and had a realistic chance of getting hired.

No further dates were set for this matter.
