A defense attorney for a murder defendant requested July 8 that a hearing be continued so he could receive additional evidence from the prosecution.
Khamari Perkins, 19, is charged with the first-degree murder of Naseem Simpson, 18, who died from a gunshot wound on March 15 on the 3000 Block of 14th Street, NW.
DC Superior Court Judge Julie Becker granted the defense’s request and scheduled another hearing for Aug. 7.
