A convicted felon was sentenced to time in prison on May 19.
Chance Ridout, who also goes under the name James Smith, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted burglary on Feb. 7.
Judge Rainey Brandt sentenced Ridout to two years in prison for his crimes. Brown must also complete three years of supervised release after his prison sentence, pay $100 to under the Victims of Violent Crime Compensation Act and $1,075 in restitution.
According to court documents, Ridout broke into a Korean restaurant, Triple B Fresh, in Northwest DC on Jan. 16. He attempted to open a cash register but could not. When police arrived on the scene he fled to the kitchen area of the store and hid in a kitchen storage area where K-9 dogs found him on the floor.
