A man wanted for months by police for the alleged murder of Darnell Lee Richardson has been arrested.
In April, police circulated a photo of Leon Stewart, seeking his arrest for Richardson’s shooting death on March 16. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder while armed.
According to police, Richardson was found in the driver’s seat of a car suffering from gunshot wounds. Police determined the actual shooting took place in the 3400 block of Benning Road, NE.
Stewart is being held without bail and is due in court on June 17.
