The man charged with the death of his father was ruled competent to stand trial.
Peter Spencer is charged with second-degree murder while armed after he allegedly killed Harrison Spencer on August 10, 2016.
During the hearing, the government agreed to share any medical records it hasn’t already shared with the defense.
The government and defense said they plan to come to an agreement regarding a plea deal in the next few weeks. According to court records, a plea deal has not been finalized.
In 2018 the case was continued to for an evaluation of the defendant and to check on the appropriate course of the case.
A felony status conference is expected to be held on April 13.
