Murder Defendant Pleads Not Guilty

A fatal shooting defendant pleaded not guilty before D.C Superior Court Judge Danya Dayson in a hearing on July 18.  Iesha Marks, 31, is charged with first-degree murder while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and unlawful possession of a firearm for her alleged involvement in the murder of 46-year-old Donald Childs on July 30, 2023, on the 100 block of Farragut Street, NW.  Marks’ defense attorney, Nikki Lotze, asserted Marks’ constitutional rights, including the right to a speedy trial.
