DC Superior Court Judge Robert Hildum accepted a jail stabbing defendant’s waiver of his preliminary hearing on June 9. Dwayne Bean-Freeman, 22, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon for his alleged involvement in a stabbing on April 2 on the 1900 block of D Street, NE, at the DC Jail. Bean-Freeman is currently incarcerated at the jail for a previous unrelated crime. According to the arrest warrant, Bean-Freeman and other inmates were met at their housing unit to be escorted to the infirmary to receive medication. Read more »
