Defense Tries to Show Flaws in Detectives’ Investigation of Double Homicide

On April 27, the defense attempted to show Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives’ failure to probe other suspects during the investigation for a double homicide case.  Alphonso Walker, 45, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder while armed with aggravating circumstances, two counts of first-degree murder while armed while committing or attempting to commit a robbery, six counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, two counts of attempt to commit robbery and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior conviction in connection to the death of Delonte Wilson, 23, and Antone Brown, 44, near the 400 block of 61st Street, NE on April 25, 2018.  The prosecution questioned an MPD detective who participated in the search of Walker's home after a search warrant had been issued. Trial Delays Continue in Double Homicide Case 

On April 21, parties continued jury selection on what was supposed to be the first day of trial.   Alphonso Walker, 46, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection to the death of Delonte Wilson,23, and Antone Brown,44, near the 400 block of 61st Street, NE on April 25, 2018.  Parties were not able to reach the jurors' threshold number, out of the beginning 80-juror panel, to go on to final jury selection because too many jurors already set plans for various reasons, including the Memorial Day holiday. Sex Abuse Defendant Claims Negligent Treatment in Virginia Jail

During a March 27 status hearing, a defendant complained about his treatment at a jail in Northern Neck, VA.  The 44-year-old defendant is charged with multiple counts, including first-degree burglary while armed, counts of first-degree sexual abuse while armed, first-degree sexual abuse, and one count of first-degree child sexual abuse, kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon, and obstruction. The defendant is also charged in a felony domestic violence case.
