A sentencing for a felony defendant was not held on April 30.
Michael “Miesha” Hines pleaded guilty to aggravated assault — knowingly and simple assault on Dec. 4, 2019. Hines, who is a transgender woman, was initially charged with second-degree murder while armed with a firearm for shooting Wendell Youngblood, 46, on the 1500 block of North Capitol Street, NE on Aug. 3.
Hines, 23, filed for release because of the COVID-19 pandemic in March. That request was denied on April 17.
Hines sentencing has been rescheduled for May 22.
