A status hearing for two defendants convicted of murder was not called or held on May 22.
Rodney Brown and Leonard Bishop are appealing their 1996 conviction of first-degree murder while armed, assault with the intent to kill while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and carrying a pistol without a license. The two men were convicted of killing Andre Newton and injuring four others in a shooting on the 600 block of 46th Place, SE on Nov. 25, 1994.
The status hearing has yet to be rescheduled.
